Ayer 22 of May, "World Biodiversity Day" the exhibition of the giant squid specimen was inaugurated at the Information Point of the Strait.
The event was attended by Federico Fernández , Provincial Delegate of Cádiz of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Environment, Esther Gordo, director-curator of the P.N. Strait and the veterinarian who participated in the necropsy of the specimen.
The specimen was found in Algeciras at the end of 2012. Stomach 6,45 meters and weighs 70 kilos and is of the species Architeuthis dux. The necropsy was carried out at the CEGMA in Algeciras where the animal was analyzed and kept in a glass case for educational purposes..
The exhibition is open to the general public at the Strait of Tarifa Information Point.
